ALTU-135 Phase III Trial

Altus is currently recruiting subjects for the Phase III Clinical Trial of an Investigational Enzyme Replacement Therapy in people with Pancreatic Insufficiency from Chronic Pancreatitis.

Trizytek™ (porcine-free enzymes) an investigational oral enzyme replacement product, is being evaluated as a potential therapy for malabsorption associated wit pancreatic insufficiency (PI) due to Chronic Pancreatitis (CP) and Cystic Fibrosis (CF). The DIGEST Trials (Determining the efficacy and safety of an Innovative GastrointESTinal enzyme complex) will examine the safety and efficacy of Trizytek in people with PI due to CF, as well as ascertain the safety of Trizytek in patients with PI due to CP. Trizytek contains three enzymes- a lipase, protease, and amylase- specifically chosen to aid in the digestion of fats, proteins and carbohydrates. Trizytek has been studied in Phase I and Phase II clinical trials that assessed its safety, efficacy, and dosing regimen. These trials supported further testing of this product in a Phase III program.

Altus Pharmaceuticals has completed the recruitment phase of the DIGEST Trials with CF patients. We would like to thank all of the clinical sites and participants involved.

We are currently still seeking participants with chronic pancreatitis to be part of the DIGEST long-term safety study. The duration of the study is one year and participants will be asked to take the study medication with every meal or snack.
